Laying the groundwork for life
Montessori 4 Home has made it possible for our family to afford the wonderful
Montessori method for homeschooling. Each box provides authentic Montessori
materials right to our door with a resourceful lending library approach, and removes the
extensive research, planning, and purchasing that would go into preparing such
lessons.
The parent videos and tutorials are simple to follow, and the lesson plan tracking helps
me as the parent stay organized and track my child’s interests, progress, and any
observations of their work. Diane’s expertise and guidance are also extremely practical
and insightful.
I am so grateful that this program offers flexibility to fit our family’s schedule and that the
materials and lessons can be tailored to our child’s interests and strengths. For
example, our daughter absolutely loves penguins, so she received two Montessori-style
penguin puzzles that helped her learn about different types of penguins and the penguin
life cycle. Maps, oceans, and continents were also a big area of interest, so we received
more geography-related Montessori materials.
When our daughter wanted to learn about the human body, she received various age-appropriate books about the body, a stethoscope, a digestion science experiment, and a hands-on tooth brushing activity where she got to make her own “toothpaste” and brush a pretend mouth full of teeth.
This also helped her start brushing her own teeth more thoroughly.
Our daughter also enjoys numbers and counting, and the various Montessori lessons and progressions have been very helpful to develop a better number sense in unique ways versus the
way a more traditional type of homeschooling program might do so. She is also very
interested in letters and writing, and it is amazing to watch her now create and read
CVC words before she is even four years old!
It is very evident how special this Montessori approach is in providing more substantial
learning opportunities for such tremendous growth and potential. What an incredible
and affordable way to invest in our child’s early education, knowing that this is laying the
groundwork for the rest of their life!
